ADHCE SCHOLARSHIPS 2023-2024

For 2023-2024, the Alliance awarded three student scholarships, $750 each.

The scholarship projects are meant to promote the ADHCE Core Competencies on Disability for Health Care Education. Congratulations to the following awardees:
  • Isaac Bronson,T.H. Chan School of Medicine, University of Massachusetts. Project: Creating a guide for male genitourinary exams for patients with disabilities.
  • Olivia Lenzo and Harriet Fisher, Rush Medical College. Project: To develop curricular materials and a pilot simulation experience at Rush University.
  • Lydia Rose Smeltz, Penn State College of Medicine. Project: Extend ADEPT-CARE Program - a teaching tool to prepare medical students and residents to take a comprehensive history, perform a comprehensive physical exam for a disabled patient, and consider disability-related healthcare needs in the context of a medical visit.

        The Alliance for Disability in Health Care Education, Inc. (ADHCE), is a “501 (c) (3) Public Charity”  organization of healthcare educators and professionals who are working to integrate disability-related content and experiences into healthcare education and training programs.
