Who we are

The Alliance for Disability in Health Care Education, Inc. (ADHCE), is a “501 (c) (3) Public Charity”  organization of healthcare educators and professionals (e.g. medicine, nursing, public health, social workers, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech and language pathologists and others) who are working to integrate disability-related content and experiences into healthcare education and training programs. Through journal article publications, presenting at conferences, and participating on advisory panels and workgroups, the Alliance strives to ensure that the need for disability-related education and training in healthcare is recognized and addressed.

Mission

The mission of the Alliance for Disability in Health Care Education, an interdisciplinary organization, is to advance the availability of effective, appropriate and high quality health care for persons with disabilities by promoting the inclusion of disability-related theory, research, and clinical learning experiences in healthcare training.

Vision

The vision of the Alliance is to be a international leader and resource to support medical, nursing, dental, social work and all other health care and health-related professional curriculums. Additionally, to recognize the benefits to students when they integrate research and evidence-based skills and strategies. The Alliance also aims to establish professional standards and competencies designed to promote and deliver high quality healthcare for all people with disabilities across the lifespan.
